The Social Security General Directorate (DGRSS) is an agency of the Federal Administration of Public Revenue (AFIP). This agency is in charge of the collection and auditing of the resources that finance the Social Security provisions.

The main functions of this agency are the collection and distribution of contributions, the setting of fines, the settlement of debts, and the implementation of sanctions or other measures.

The Social Security General Directorate controls the set of rules adopted by the State to maintain the standard of living of the people and to assist the people in need through monetary contributions when they face certain situations as for example motherhood, sickness, old age, accidents or unemployment.
